Special Card Instructions
- Cards of Light (Blessing, Grace, Ask, Prayer, and Amen) serve as wild cards. The player who
plays the Card of Light chooses the color of the next card to be played.
- Blessing: This card can be played on any regular turn. The player chooses a color and
plays an additional card.
- Grace: This card can be played on any regular turn. The player chooses a color and
plays an additional card. This card also completely cancels a Devil, Sin, or
Temptation card. It can be played after a Trial card to reduce the number of
cards that must be drawn to 1 (which cannot be immediately played).
- Ask: This card can be played on any regular turn. The player chooses a color.
The player then asks the next player for a Blessing, Grace, Prayer, or Amen card.
The player keeps asking the next player for one of those cards until either
one is received or all 4 have been asked for. If a player has the card that
he/she is being asked for, the player must give it up. If the player doesnt have any of them then the player who was asked and didnt have one must draw a card from the deck. A player may not end a round by
playing an Ask card. If an Ask card is the last card played and the player does
not receive one of the cards of light that he/she asks for, then he/she must
draw a card from the deck. However, if in being asked for a card of light a
player is left without any cards, then he/she can say Amen and end the round.
- Prayer: This card can be played on any regular turn. It reverses the direction of
play. The player chooses a color. This card also completely cancels a Devil,
Sin, or Temptation card. It can be played after a Trial card to reduce the
number of cards that must be drawn to 1 (which cannot be immediately played). It
also can be followed by an Amen card from ANY player.
- Amen: An Amen card can be played at any regular turn to change the current color.
But, when played at a regular turn, no extra card can be played. When a
player plays a Prayer card, ANY player can immediately play an Amen card and shout Amen! before the next players turn. Whoever plays the Amen card after a Prayer card becomes the current
player, chooses a color, and gets to play an additional card. Play then
continues to the next player. The computer player playing the Amen card must always
say Amen. Human players do not need to say Amen on each Amen card. If a player ends a round by playing an Amen card, 25
points are deducted from his/her score.
- Devil: The next player draws 4 cards from the deck unless he/she can cancel it with
a Grace or Prayer card.
- Sin: The next player draws 3 cards from the deck unless he/she can cancel it with
a Grace or Prayer card.
- Temptation: The next player draws 2 cards from the deck unless he/she can cancel it with
a Grace or Prayer card.
- Trial: The next player draws 2 cards from the deck unless he/she can reduce that
number to 1 with a Grace or Prayer card.
