Play Selection and Result
The play selection & result section of the main screen has 3 main parts:
- Play Selection: The first part of the Play Selection & Result box displays the six (6) play selection buttons. The team that currently has
the ball should click on one of the six choices and then press the Hike button. The possible play choices are as follows:
- Short Run: A play of this type will present one of the easiest questions in the game.
Getting this type of question correct will result in a gain of between 1 and 4
yards depending on the difficulty factor of the question.
- Short Pass: A play of this type will present one of the second easiest questions in the
game. Getting this type of question correct will result in a gain of between 2
and 8 yards depending on the difficulty factor of the question.
- Long Run: A play of this type will present one of the second hardest questions in the
game. Getting this type of question correct will result in a gain of between 5
and 20 yards depending on the difficulty factor of the question.
- Long Pass: A play of this type will present one of the hardest questions in the game.
Getting this type of question correct will result in a gain of between 10 and 40
yards depending on the difficulty factor of the question.
- Punt: Selecting this type of play will just kick the ball to the other team at a
random distance of between 20 and 55 yards.
- Field Goal: A field goal attempt will present a question of varying difficulty. Depending
on the difficulty factor of the question, a field goal can be completed from
the 1 yard line up to the 49 yard line (or, in essence, a 66 yard field goal
after you add 10 yards for the endzone and 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage
for the kick).
- Hike Button: The second part of the Play Selection & Result box is the Hike button. This button implements the play that was selected with the play
selection buttons.
- Play Result: The third part of the Play Selection & Result box displays the result of the previous play.
